SEATTLE – Coming off their impressive 29-3 defeat of the San Francisco 49ers Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks and their rowdy fan base nicknamed “the 12th Man” are expected to break the existing world record for “loudest laughter” this weekend when the 0-2 Jaguars visit CenturyLink Field.
“Oh man, it is gonna get noisy at that game on Sunday,” proclaimed ‘Hawks season ticket holder J.C. Cunningham. “Once Blaine Gabbert and Maurice Jones-Drew and the rest of that Jaguars offense starts fumbling and bumbling and throwing pick-sixes, you can expect the entire stadium to be shaking from the force of the giggles and belly laughs we’re gonna be raining down.”
Informed that Gabbert will likely miss the game due to injury, Cunningham continued, “Holy crap, so it’s gonna be Chad Henne? Whoo boy. I don’t know what the current record is for loudest laugh, but we just may double it on Sunday.”
Guiness Book of World Records officials confirmed that with a combined laugh volume of 139.8 decibals or higher, the Seahawks crowd would indeed break the existing record for loudest stadium laugh, set by the opponents of the Detroit Lions in week #1 of the 2008 season (and subsequently tied each week thereafter for the next 15 games).
