POMPANO BEACH, FL – Despite not being an official member of the Dolphins training staff, or possessing any background in coaching whatsoever, Lauren Tannehill, wife of Miami QB Ryan Tannehill, has been working closely with her husband as of late to help slow down his release, sources close to the couple confirmed today.
“That’s it. Take your time, sweetie. Don’t get too excited back there,” the 25-year old Tannehill reportedly whispered to the second-year signal caller. “Just try to get comfortable in that pocket and develop a feel for what you want to do next. No need to force anything yet. If you start rushing things, you’re liable to end up with a big mess on your hands.”
According to reports, the blonde-haired, green-eyed Tannehill has been attempting to correct her spouse’s lack of attention to detail, as well as his poor sense of timing when delivering a shot.
“You have to use your head, babe,” she instructed as her husband again struggled to maintain his composure during a second set of reps. “Remember, you might have to use motion to get everything positioned the way you want it. Don’t be afraid to call an audible if you see another opening you want to aim for. And then, only when you’ve gone through all your progressions, should you fire away with everything you’ve got.”
“He has the skills to get the job done,” the frustrated wife sighed after yet another disappointing practice session. “But he really needs to work on his finishing motion. Trust me, we’ll get there eventually. I intend to work his butt off until I’m truly satisfied.”
“Ryan!” she then shouted to the exhausted Tannehill, who was busy sipping Gatorade and breathing deeply from a purified oxygen mask. “Put a new helmet on. We’re going again!”
